A measurement transmitted from a device bound to a hub will always route internally to that hub, even if it is picked up and transmitted by another hub. This can be useful in situations where multiple hubs can be located very close to one another (i.e. two patients living in the same household with two hubs).

đź’ˇ It is recommended to NOT use this feature unless absolutely necessary as it can cause workflow issues and unpredictable behavior.

From a hub’s page or on the measurements page, select one or more measurements coming from the desired device MAC address(es). Click the Bind Device
dropdown button.
Select the option that is most appropriate. In most cases, you will be binding to the transmitting hub of the measurements, using the “Bind to a transmitting hub” option. However, if you want to bind the device(s) to a different hub that is not the transmitting hub, you can use the “Bind to a different hub” option, allowing you to select any hub in your organization. Regardless of which option you choose, the binding will work the same between the hub and device(s).

đź’ˇ Note that if a device is already bound to a hub, trying to bind it to a different hub will fail. Devices may only be bound to one hub at a time.

After binding, any time a measurement from any of the hub’s bound devices is transmitted by any hub in your organization, the Stel platform will recognize the binding and connect the measurement to the bound hub rather than the transmitting hub.

đź’ˇ When decommissioning a hub from a patient, remember to unbind the device(s) from that hub.
